“The Italian Civil Protection system’s exemplary experience over decades deserves recognition on the occasion of this first edition of the General Assembly of the Civil Protection.
Over the years, the National Service has relied on the valuable experience of civil volunteers and its various components, operational structures, entities, and institutions. These volunteers have played a crucial role in assisting local communities to manage and overcome sensitive emergencies while also enhancing forecasting and prevention tools.
Professionalism and a commitment to service define the work of various components involved, which helps implement the constitutional principles of solidarity and social cohesion. This, in turn, ensures a crucial framework for addressing challenges related to territorial vulnerability, the impacts of climate change, and the urgent need to protect our environmental heritage.
In wishing every success for the gathering, I would like to express the Republic’s gratitude to all participants for their dedication to the common good, together with my best wishes for good work”.
