I BAFTA Awards, consegnati domenica 12 maggio, hanno riservato più di qualche sopresa. The Crown e Black Mirror non hanno ricevuto alcun premio, mentre per Succession è stato premiato Matthew Macfadyen. Miglior attore non protagonista, Macfadyen non ha però partecipato alla premiazione andata in scena alla Royal Festival Hall di Londra: Helena Bonham Carter, che ha presentato la categoria, ha quindi lasciato il palco con l’iconica maschera dorata dei BAFTA (con la promessa che gliel’avrebbe portata). Tra le miglior serie internazionali, nessuna statuetta alle super favorite. Ad aggiudicarsi il BAFTA Award è stata la francese Class Act, decisamente meno conosciuta. Jasmine Jobson ha vinto un BAFTA come Miglior attrice non protagonista per Top Boy (premiata anche come Migliore serie drammatica), Timothy Spall è stato eletto Migliore attore protagonista per The Sixth Commandment.
