Presentation of the book “Nel tempo sospeso. Pandemia e guerra: esperienze di psicologia delle emergenze”

On Saturday, December 16, at the headquarters of the Civil Protection Department in Via Vitorchiano 2 in Rome, will take place the presentation of the book “Nel tempo sospeso. Pandemia e guerra: esperienze di psicologia delle emergenze,” edited by Rita Di Iorio, psychotherapist and honorary president of the Alfredino Rampi Center.

The talk will focus on the theme of the constant succession of emergencies that turns the emergency state into almost an ordinary situation, the role of the psychology of emergency within civil protection activities, and the need for cooperation in this highly delicate phase of intervention in which the “suspended time,” typical of states of crisis and traumatic events, requires an intricate and careful combination of different actions and procedures.

Welcome speeches by Department Head Fabrizio Curcio and Alfredo Rampi Center Vice President Michele Grano will be followed by a space for conversation with Deputy Head of Department Titti Postiglione, the author of the book Rita Di Iorio and other Italian, Belgian, and Ukrainian emergency psychology professionals, who, starting from their life experiences and the psychosocial interventions implemented during the pandemic and war in Ukraine over the past three years, will provide new insights to gather what has been done and learn from the experience.

The event will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and can be attended in person or remotely at the following link: https://protezionecivile-it.zoom.us/j/62081796467.
