La stagione dei premi che porta agli Oscar 2024 è ufficialmente iniziata e, come da tradizione, in queste la National Board of Review ha annunciato la sua classifica dei migliori film del 2023.
Killers of the Flower Moon di Martin Scorsese è stato nominato miglior film, il secondo premio di alto profilo per il film diretto da Martin Scorsese nella stessa settimana dopo essere stato anche nominato miglior film dell’anno dal New York Film Critics Circle. Il film sui delitti di Osage ha vinto anche il premio per la miglior regia (Scorsese) e la migliore attrice (Lily Gladstone), mentre il direttore della fotografia Rodrigo Prieto ha vinto il premio per la migliore fotografia per il suo lavoro sia su Killers of the flower moon che su Barbie, che è stato citato tra i migliori titoli dell’anno.
The Holdovers ha vinto anche tre premi: miglior attore (Paul Giamatti) e attrice non protagonista (Da’Vine Joy Randolph), sceneggiatura originale (David Hemingson) ed è stato nominato uno dei migliori film dell’anno. Spazio anche all’Italia, con La chimera citato tra i migliori 5 film internazionali.
L’anno scorso, il premio principale della serata andò a Top Gun: Maverick. Ecco tutti i vincitori della National Board of Review 2023:
